Being that PGS is a woman-owned small business that provides tailored IT solutions and consulting services, we'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge International Women's Day, as well as both Women's History Month and Expanding Girls' Horizons in Science and Engineering Month.

Thank you to the brilliant, brave, and compassionate women and girls who supported and fought for equal rights and opportunities, as well as those who continue to do the same today. The strides women have made specifically in STEM fields have helped make it possible for PGS to exist.

But there are still more hurdles to overcome before we achieve a world that's equitable and free of discrimination. Let's make the path to that future smoother by celebrating women's and girls' advancement and achievements, amplifying their voices, and empowering them to succeed in male-dominated arenas like STEM—all month long and beyond.

Where do we even begin when it comes to reasons why we love dogs?! The list is breathtakingly long, but today—National K-9 Veterans Day—we specifically acknowledge and honor the sacrifice and service of incredible military dogs.

Many countries dating back to the 6th century BC have relied on dogs to aid in military operations, including tracking, scouting, patrolling, detecting, bringing aid to the wounded, engaging in combat, and more.

In the United States, training dogs specifically for military use and making them an official part of our Armed Forces began on this date in 1942, spurred on by the attack on US Naval Station Pearl Harbor. We can't begin to properly convey how grateful we are to what we consider some of the bravest, most loyal soldiers in history (although we'll try with some tummy rubs from afar).

Health and wellness are two of our company values, so we love that our CTO is having fun and taking part in the AGA Indianapolis Chapter / Society of Defense Financial Management (SDFM) Walking Challenge. We're proud of you, Julie—go get 'em!

On this day in 1973, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam disbanded and the last US combat troops left Vietnam. Even though 9 million Americans served during the Vietnam War era and there are more than 58,000 names inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, opposition to the polarizing armed conflict was so strong that a vast number of military personnel never received recognition or a proper welcome when they returned to America.

March 29 is a day meant to change that. Vietnam Veterans Day is an opportunity to do what should've been done more than fifty years ago: Acknowledge and thank those who served and sacrificed—and finally welcome them home.

Since it's Earth Day and Volunteer Week, we're reminiscing about our 2023 community service project: We partnered with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and Candace Dayton of JFHQ to clean a stream near an elementary school in Glen Burnie, Maryland, as part of the Alliance's Project Clean Stream event. We had a great time connecting with people in our community and caring for our environment, which is what Earth Day is all about!

We're in the process of deciding what our company's spring volunteer activity will be, so stay tuned!
